The Journal wasfounded in 2002 and is issued subject to the federal law ON MASS-MEDIA, to the Statutes of North-Caucasus Federal University, as well as to the Regulations on the Journal.
The Journal has been registered at the Federal Service for Monitoring in the area of Connection, Information Technologies, and Mass Communications (Roscomnadzor).

The major purpose for the Journal is to publish the results obtained from research projects carried out by scientists of North-Caucasus Federal University as well as of other authors, whose works are of high theoretical and practical value.
The Journal offers the following theme columns:
Earth and Environmental Sciences;Subsoil use and mining sciences.
Priority is offered to the authors who work actively on their Candidate of Science and Doctor of Science papers.
The articles submitted to the Editor’s office shall be subject to a mandatory review by the Board of Editors.
